Christmas in Walnut 2012: young people leading the way!

Taking a break from Looking Back to focus on the Present!  This week is the 3rd annual Christmas in Walnut on Dec. 8!  In so many ways God has already been blessing this event.  Here are a few snapshots of young people developing a heart for Christ and others through giving!

Our Children's Ministry set a goal that they  would purchase 100 books with their offerings over a month.  They actually had enough to purchase 153 Christmas is Here storybooks as gifts for families who will shop the Christmas Store!

This young man volunteered on the Gift Collection Team.  He marked out barcodes on gifts as they were donated!  Young people can serve in significant ways in the Body of Christ!

Big House Teenagers went out in small groups last night and shopped...using a lot of their own money to purchase 316 toys for other children at Christmas in Walnut.   Thanks for being generous  and joyful givers, Teenagers!
This trio took the money that would have been spent on them this Christmas, and chose to buy for others with that money instead of receiving Christmas gifts this year!  $400 donated to the Christmas in Walnut.  Thanks for being sacrificial givers, Teenagers!
