Yesterday was a great day at ccda. I hit two workshops- one on accessing federal funds as a faith-based non-profit, and the other on deploying the business and entrepreneurial gifts of our congregation in the work of justice and shalom in our community.
Last night, we listened to Richard Twiss speak on "rescuing theology from the cowboys." He spoke of the impact that white, eurocentric theology and domination has had on the Native American people throughout history. His story rang with the familiar story my African-American friends shared with me through the Divided by Faith book conversation last month... speaking of the damage done as the white race, with a sense of superiority, has lived and continues to live with an entitlement mentality at the expense of so many brothers and sisters across America.
